Vandana Garg: REPL (Rudrabhisehk Enterprise Pvt Ltd) is the mother concern of Apna Ghar. In fact Apna Ghar is the brought under REPL itself. Also the administration is same for both the organisations. The major difference lies in the terms of projects as handled by each company. REPL on one hand deals with larger projects while Apna Ghar focuses on individual projects. The most distinguishing feature between both of them however is offline and online services. Vandana Garg: Architecture is a vast field. We have a library maintained from all places that comprises of valuable information. Our clientele from throughout the world send their queries via email. Vandana Garg: There are many international brands already working here. Nevertheless, the Architectural Digest is a huge brand and its association with Indian market will boost the entire industry here. We should definitely look forward to many more international partnerships because their idea of architecture is unique and modernised. Their technology is for technical buildings like airport and industries. But blindly being influenced for residential projects is not a good idea because every residential project depends upon specific requirements. Hence those designs may not match Indian needs.
Metroplots: Do you think technology plays an important role in architecture?
Vandana Garg: We are living in a technological era and there has been surge in eco-friendly homes and green buildings in Indian market. Eco- friendly homes have been developed out of technology. So yes, technology plays an important role in architecture. Architecture has to be modified according to the changing needs. While doing architecture for many projects, all designs are prepared with detailed drawings and estimates keeping in consideration the standards, bye-laws, norms and earthquake resistance. Hence, technology has proved to be of great help for architecture because any modification can now be done with the correct use of it.
